For those who don’t know National PUBG League Tournament is a PUBG professional league which takes place in North America. National PUBG League represents North America’s portion of 2019 Official competitive season held by PUBG Corporation.

  1. Definitions

Admin - The members of the administration team that will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the tournament. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to providing support for players with questions, observing in-game, and delivering judgements on player conflicts. They do not have control of in-game lobby functions.

Committee - Management of the league is fulfilled by the League Committee, henceforth referred to as Committee. The Committee is formed by Battlefy (League Operators), OGN (Organizers) and PUBG Corp. representatives.

Captain - The Player on a team that is responsible for finalizing the roster of a Squad. They should be categorized as such on the team listing on Battlefy.

NPL - National PUBG League, the official PUBG League for North America, henceforth referred to as NPL.

NPLC - National PUBG League Contenders, the official PUBG Contenders League for North America, henceforth referred to as NPLC.

Organizer - The organization of the league is maintained by OGN, in partnership with the League Operators, Battlefy.

Player - Each person participating in the Qualifier as a competitor.

Preseason - The closed offline competition that will determine the classification of teams in the NPL.

Qualifier - The open online qualifications for the NPL Preseason.

Squad - The group of 4 Players that will be playing on the same team for the duration of the Qualifiers and Preseason.

  1. Roster Management

a. Eligible Regions

Teams should ensure that the Squads they have formed are in accordance with the strictly enforced regional locks placed on rosters. Defined as follows; 3 out of the 4 roster Players must have legal permanent residence or citizenship status of an eligible country, listed below. One out of the four Players is allowed to compete from a region outside of these bounds.

b. Roster Lock

Registration will close on Saturday March 2nd at 5:59pm Pacific / 8:59pm Eastern.

By 8:59pm Pacific / 11:59pm Eastern on Saturday March 2nd, 2019, rosters will lock and no changes are allowed. Captains of each team will need to select the 4 players that will be playing for the entire duration of the competition prior to this Roster Lock time. Changes in the roster from that point onwards are forbidden.

To select your 4 players, the Captain of the team must go onto the portal and select the 4 players that they wish to use in the tournament.

c. Substitutions

Substitutions will not be allowed for the entire duration of the Qualifier and the Preseason. This means that the same 4 Players will need to play for the same team for the entire Qualifier and the Preseason.

d. Obligation of Participation

Upon entry into this event, each Player and relating Team are bound to compete in all official tournament matches. Teams may compete with 3 players due to a player being unable to join the lobby for any reason. Teams that have 2 or less players in lobby when it launches will be removed from the event for violation of this rule unless Admins verify it was caused by extreme circumstances. This is up to the discretion of the Committee.

In addition to this, each and relating team agree to follow this document’s rules to the best of their ability. Understanding that violations may result in punishments against both the offending Player and team. This may include ejection and/or temporary/permanent bans from the event.

  1. Participation Agreement

a. Participation Agreement

All Players must be 18 years of age by March 15, 2019. The Committee reserves the right at any point during the play of this competition to request verification of any individual or team entity. Players are required to compete using their verified ‘real’ account. Using alternative or ‘fake’ accounts is a breach in the conditions of this event and may result in ejection.

b. Player Behavior and Names

Any racist, sexist, hate-speech, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Players that do not follow this rule may be disqualified or banned from the competition. Player names must not include derogatory or otherwise inappropriate words. In addition, Players and Player names should not be advertising any gambling-related activity. Whether or not a Player’s behavior or username qualifies as inappropriate is solely up to the discretion of the tournament admins. Player’s should not change their name after registering for the tournament and it is solely the players responsibility to ensure that the proper account is linked to the tournament.

All the information that Players and teams require, will be posted on the site as well as the Discord channel (https://discord.gg/VWC9uWA).

Information on the site is considered to be read in 24 hours after it was posted. Any news, posted on other resources, partner-sites, etc. is not official and information posted on these resources can be different from official announcements. The Committee is not responsible for such external information.

  1. League Administration

League Administration

The Committee will utilize admins to act on their behalf. These admins are responsible for handling any / all match-related issues that occur before, during and immediately after a match has taken place. The admin’s responsibilities include server management, monitoring team lineups, announcing the beginning of a match and above all else, ensuring the competitive integrity of the event.

  1. Tournament Format

a. Qualifier Format

The Qualifier will be played online on Battlefy. There will be 5 days of competition. Depending on the final number of registered checked-in teams, rounds will be set to have as many 2 day 8 game rounds as possible starting with the Finals round. (Example: 3 Rounds will have a 1 day 4 game round followed by a 2 day 8 game Semi-finals and Finals.) Teams will compete for placement points and points per kill. At the end of Round 1, the top 8 of teams of each lobby based on cumulative points will advance to the next round. Round 1 lobbies might have over or under 16 teams each due to the irregular number of teams. From Round 2 onwards, all lobbies will have 16 teams.

The top 11 teams remaining in the Qualifier will advance to the Contenders Relegations where they will play against 5 Contenders teams for a total of 16 teams.

b. Schedule

  1. Points System

a. Points by Placement

b. Kill Points

For every kill that a Player obtains, the corresponding Team will receive 1 point.

  1. Core Tournament Rules

a. Player Replays

All Players must have the “Replay” function enabled. To do this, go to Settings > Gameplay > and make sure Replay is Enabled. Players should save all the games during the Qualifier (the most recent 20) by locking them in the replays section of the game. These replays must be kept for at least 10 days after the last day of the Qualifier.

b. Streaming

All players may stream from their own perspective. Every stream must be set on an 8-minute delay and players found to be using less than 8-minutes will be disqualified from their current game and asked to fix the delay ASAP or risk disqualification from the entire tournament.

c. Bans by PUBG

All Players participating in the NPL Qualifiers must have no bans issued by PUBG or any alternate accounts that are banned. If there is conclusive evidence of a player with ownership of an account that is banned, that player may be immediately disqualified.

d. 3rd Party / External Software / Modification of the PUBG Game

Use of any third-party software that interferes or modifies the game is strictly forbidden and will result in instant disqualification. Use of 3rd party apps to alter the game’s appearance, UI, or files, is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to Re-shade, SweetFX and Vibrance GUI. Use of wall hacks, speed hacks, aim bots or any other manipulations of the game are also strictly prohibited. If there is conclusive evidence of a Player hacking, then they will be banned from the competition immediately and their account names handed over to PUBG Corp.

e. Abuse of Bugs

Intentionally utilizing any bug or unintended feature within the game is considered cheating and will result in disqualification.

f. Match Start

Each team will have 10 minutes to join the lobby. In 10 minutes, the game will start automatically and each Player that failed to join on time will forfeit their spot within the match. Teams who were not able to join on time will receive 0 points for that match.

g. Mid-Match

In case of disconnection of any Player during the match, the team may continue playing with the roster that is still in the game, even if the disconnected Player cannot return to the game.

Restart of the server can be initialized only by admins in extreme circumstances. This action requires approval from the Committee and will traditionally only be used when a matter outside of the control of admins / teams / Players affect the outcome of a match.

Players are strictly prohibited to provide access to gaming accounts and lobby passwords to 3rd persons, not registered for the tournament.

h. End of Match

In the case of teams finding an error in points results after a match, they should notify admins immediately and be able to provide a replay of the match.
