The option to spectate a player’s killer has been a highly requested feature for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, especially since its main competition in the battle royale genre, Fortnite, already has it. All that needs to be done is to select the ‘watch’ button after being killed and players will be able to view their killer, but if another player takes them out, that new killer can be chosen as the next to spectate and so on.
If a player or their killer gets taken out from the being outside the safe zone, however, the game will allow gamers to spectate the next closest player. It is worth noting, though, that if players choose to watch the death cam, they will not be able to spectate their killer. This means players will need to choose between seeing how they were taken out by watching the death cam or to spectate their killer for the rest of the match (or until he/she dies).
The patch will also address other issues and bugs currently in the game. A bug that caused issues with vehicles, such as them randomly flipping or flying off, has been resolved. There was an issue where some players could not see the in-game name (IGN) of their killer on the death cam, which has been fixed. Finally, the rotation axis for the preview model in the customization menu has been adjusted, as well. The patch will go live today at 7pm PST, 10am EST and 3am UK on April 5.
There’s no doubt that this should make the players who have been clamoring for the feature happy. The game itself is wildly popular, with WWE Champ AJ Styles even stating it is his current favorite game. Not only that, the game just recently reached a milestone on its Xbox One version by hitting 5 million players on that platform.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available on PC and Xbox One.
